Xtream Codes vs M3U: What's the Difference

An Xtream Codes login is made up of three parts — a username, a password, and a server URL — that a player app uses to pull your channel list, VOD library, and EPG directly from the source. An M3U playlist URL bundles all of that into a single link instead. Functionally, they deliver the same content; the choice mostly comes down to which format your preferred player app supports. IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate, and most modern apps accept both.

Where to Find Your IPTVON Login Details

Your login details are sent shortly after payment is confirmed, typically over WhatsApp or email, depending on how you completed your order. If you can't locate them, contact IPTVON support and they can resend your Xtream Codes credentials or M3U link.

Adding an Xtream Codes Login to a Player App

• Open your player app and choose Add Playlist or Add User, then select Xtream Codes API
• Enter your username and password exactly as sent
• Enter the server URL, including http:// or https:// at the start
• Save and let the app pull your channel list, VOD library, and EPG

Adding an M3U Playlist URL to a Player App

• Open your player app and choose Add Playlist, then select M3U URL, sometimes labeled Load from URL
• Paste the full playlist link IPTVON provided, without adding or removing characters
• Name the playlist, IPTVON works well, and save it
• Give the app a minute to download and parse the playlist before checking channels

If your player app supports both formats, Xtream Codes is generally the more reliable choice since it connects live to the source rather than loading a static playlist file, which means EPG and VOD updates tend to sync more consistently.
